Podere Rosignano: Loving trekking

On a sunny and pretty cold day......a bunch of walkers made it superbly. Starting from the small village of Gerfalco (20 minutes by car from the Podere) up to a breathtaking spot, where one could almost see nearly the whole  Tuscany. No one was there only these  remarkable sculptures that seemed to float in the sky,  birds, sun, fresh air, wind, our laughters  and this astounding landscape. The sea :Follonica, further down in the mist, the presence of the islands: Elba, Capraia, Gorgona. So absolutely perfect this region is! What can one ask for more?
Hit by the silence and the feeling of being in another time, we kept looking around and every single spot deserved a glance a subtle comment. Then in a ring kind of route,  passing through amazing wild nature where only the few went by over the centuries, an ancient and magnificent chestnut tree,   and pure springs,

we came to the Castle of Fosini, and slowly slowly returned to Gerfalco. Happiness was in the air, lucky us we made it: walked for nearly 17 kilometres, surrounded by sheer beauty.

Creative excellent home prepared mouthwatering food at Podere Rosignano

Food is not just food. Food is the smell of fresh ingredients, food is the selection of the ingredients,food is the passion for cooking, food is the pleasure of being in the kitchen, food is not thinking it' s "time consuming or wasting time", food is the smile on the faces of our guests. At Podere Rosignano we try to satisfy our guests even the most demanding ones, by offering a selection of dishes of our own creation. All the ingredients we use, are fresh and cooked or dressed with our own produced extra virgin olive oil. Also they come from nearby producers, are genuine, most of the
vegetables are home grown and organic. Here as follow some examples of our starters:

*Peppers au gratin spread with creamy sauce

*Puff-pastry parcels with courgettes purée
*Cucumber salad with carrots and aubergine mousse
*Tomatoes salad with celery, millet and almonds sprinkle

Un Giorno a Podere Rosignano

Camminare nel bosco
a piedi nudi nel prato,
sdraiarsi al sole,
o riposarsi all'ombra delle querce,
chiudere gli occhi
e immergersi nei profumi attorno

entrare nel fresco di casa
sedersi sotto la loggia
sorseggiare il vino sincero,
e godere dello spazio lontano
un vestito leggero e volare alle danze
oppure rimanere nel giardino di stelle
a vivere la notte che sussurra

Orange and chocolate cake from Podere Rosignano B&B

A rich superb cake to warm us up

225 gr. corn flour
100 gr. chick pea flour
170 gr. butter
170 gr. brown sugar
2 eggs
zest of 3 organic oranges

200 gr. ricotta cheese
200 gr. dark chocolate
2 or 3 tbs of full fat yoghurt
2 or 3 tbs of brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon of grounded cinnamon

Rub sugar and butter together, add flour eggs and orange zest. Work all the ingredients, then  shape it into a ball. Wrap it with cling film and put it in the fridge for 1 hour or more.

Prepare the topping:
Melt chocolate  in bain marie, whip ricotta cheese with eggs, sugar and yoghurt,add the chocolate and the cinnamon

 Coat a 26 cm cake tin with  baking paper, lay the pastry, pour the topping, bake in a pre- heat oven for 20 - 25 minutes 180°. Garnish with slices of oranges, sprinkle some more cinnamon and yummi. Enjoy it.

Questi i numeri della Terza Edizione di Destinazione Sud Festival.

Destinazione Sud: è una rassegna di documentari e cinema sociale, ma anche teatro, mostre d'arte e workshop sulle tematiche sociali e ambientali legate al Sud del mondo. L'iniziativa promossa da Radicondoli Arte e con il patrocinio del Comune di Radicondoli è accolta al teatro dei Risorti a Radicondoli.

In collaborazione con Terra di Tutti Film Festival, La Terra Trema, Gvc Onlus e COSPE Onlus.

Il 5 marzo a Destinazione Sud Festival inaugura anche l'esposizione Eco de Femmes - Femmes, Terre, Économie, un progetto di Gvc Onlus per contribuire all’ emancipazione femminile nei contesti rurali attraverso il miglioramento della condizione economica e sociale delle donne:
48 scatti narrano il lavoro, l’entusiasmo e la bellezza delle quasi 800 donne protagoniste del progetto, ma anche i contesti in cui vivono: le zone dell’entroterra rurale di Tunisia e Marocco.
